Ozan Çetiner, a research assistant at the Department of Sociology at Ankara Social Sciences University (ASBU), participated in the 5th ISA Forum of Sociology, held in Rabat, Morocco, from July 6–11, 2025. Çetiner presented his paper titled “The Persistence of the Peasantry in Türkiye: Economic Crises, Government Policies, and the Impact of Ecological Degradation” in the session “Ecology, Crisis, and Power in the Middle East”, organized under the ISA RC40 – Sociology of Agriculture and Food research committee.

The sessions, which focused on agriculture, food systems, and ecological transformation, featured critical sociological discussions on the intersections of regional crises and environmental degradation.
