Organized by the Bitlis Governorship and the Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services, a conference titled "Demographic Transformation and Family in Turkey: Current Situation and Future" was held on May 30, 2025, as part of the events marking the “2025 Family Year.” The event took place at the Conference Hall of the Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services.

The keynote speaker of the event was Prof. Dr. Sutay Yavuz, Head of the Department of Sociology at Ankara Social Sciences University. In his speech, Prof. Dr. Yavuz provided a sociological analysis of the recent demographic changes in Turkey, the evolving structure of the family institution, and prospective future scenarios.

Key topics addressed included the decline in fertility rates, the aging population, migration dynamics, and structural transformations within the family. The conference provided valuable insights for policy makers, academics, and local administrators concerned with Turkey’s socio-demographic evolution.

The event, which was open to the public, concluded with a lively interactive session, during which participants posed questions and shared their perspectives.
