New book chapter written by our Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Şebnem Akçapar titled “Human Mobility, Gender, and Conflict in the Caucasus and Central Asia” just released from Lexington Books (Rowman & Littlefield Publishing) under Conflict Areas in the Caucasus and Central Asia. In the Chapter, by giving examples from her recent fieldwork, Akçapar analyzes dynamics of migration from the region under some emerging conflict areas, such as feminization of migration, irregular migration and threat to human security, neoliberal order exploiting female migrant labor, and social exclusion.
