As the Department of Sociology at Ankara Social Sciences University, we are proud to share the academic achievements of our recent graduates. Three of our alumni from the classes of 2024 and 2025 have been admitted to prestigious graduate programs in Turkey:

• Dilara Fırat (Class of 2025) – MA in Migration Studies, TED University

Prof. Dr. Sutay Yavuz, faculty member of the Department of Sociology at Ankara Social Sciences University, shared his insights on the newly released Socioeconomic Status (SES) Index by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) in an interview with BBC Turkish.

A new book titled Migration Debates in Türkiye: Interdisciplinary and Empirical Approaches, edited by Prof. Dr. Şebnem Köşer Akçapar — faculty member at ASBU Department of Sociology and Director of GAUM — has been published.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tuba Duman, a faculty member in the Department of Sociology at Social Sciences University of Ankara, has made notable academic contributions throughout 2025 through her scholarly publications and conference presentations.

The Department of Sociology at Social Sciences University of Ankara proudly celebrates the academic accomplishments of its graduates from the 2024–2025 academic year. Our outstanding students have been accepted into prestigious graduate programs at leading Turkish universities.

The article co-authored by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tuba Duman and Research Assistant Ceylin Özyurt from the Department of Sociology at Ankara Social Sciences University (ASBU) has been published in the 2025 Volume 9, Issue 1 of İçtimaiyat.

Ozan Çetiner, a research assistant at the Department of Sociology at Ankara Social Sciences University (ASBU), participated in the 5th ISA Forum of Sociology, held in Rabat, Morocco, from July 6–11, 2025.

The article titled “A Sociological Analysis of Suicide Cases in Ankara Province (2012–2023)”, prepared by faculty members of the Department of Sociology at Ankara Social Sciences University (ASBU), has been published.
