The study examines the increase in female migration from Uzbekistan to Turkey and how this process has been shaped by neoliberal policies, gender roles, and social networks. Neoliberal policies implemented in Uzbekistan have significantly increased the number of female migrants by altering the traditional male-dominated migration structure. The research shows that while migration offers women economic independence, many of them experience a reaffirmation of patriarchal norms in Turkey. This paradox is explained through the concept of “patriarchal reaffirmation.”
