The study titled "2023 Research on Turks Living in Europe: The Border Gate Example," conducted by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), has been published as a comprehensive examination of the ties between Turkish citizens living in the diaspora and Turkey. The study was scientifically supervised by Prof. Dr. Sutay Yavuz, Head of the Sociology Department at Ankara Social Sciences University.
The research, conducted in the summer of 2023, included face-to-face surveys at Kapıkule Border Gate, Istanbul Airport, and Sabiha Gökçen Airport, focusing on the economic, social, and cultural contributions of Turkish citizens living in Europe to Turkey. The findings explore various dynamics, including financial support, investment habits, charitable activities, and visit frequencies of Turks abroad.
Prof. Dr. Sutay Yavuz provided guidance to the team to enhance the scientific quality of the research and to contribute to the development of strategic recommendations for diaspora policies. The study’s findings serve as an essential resource for understanding the factors that strengthen the bonds between Turks abroad and Turkey and for developing more effective policies in this direction.
We congratulate YTB and Prof. Dr. Sutay Yavuz for bringing this valuable study to the public. Detailed information about the research can be accessed through YTB’s official website.
