On February 14, 2025, Prof. Dr. Sutay Yavuz, head of our Sociology Department, attended the inaugural Scientific Advisory Board meeting of the ThirdGen Project at the University of Warwick, UK. The ThirdGen Project focuses on the migration stories of Turkish grandchildren, aiming to explore the experiences and adaptations of third-generation Turkish immigrants.

The meeting convened eleven esteemed members from across Europe for scholarly engagement and a critical evaluation of the draft survey questionnaire. Prof. Dr. Yavuz contributed to the discussions, providing valuable insights to refine the survey's content, wording, and methodological approach. The collaborative effort ensured that the questionnaire effectively captures the nuanced experiences of the study's target population while addressing ethical considerations.​

The event marked a significant step forward in the project's development, with actionable recommendations set to enhance the quality and effectiveness of the research. Prof. Dr. Yavuz's participation underscores our department's commitment to contributing to international research collaborations that address contemporary sociological issues.
