Our department's Research Assistant, Ozan Çetiner, participated in the "Historical Materialism Conference 2026" held at Istanbul Bilgi University between April 3-5, 2026, and presented key findings from his current research.

In the session titled "Rural-Urban Rift, Spatial Transformation, and Alternative Food Networks" on Friday, April 3, Çetiner delivered his presentation, "From Urban Precarity to Rural Resistance: The Emergence of ‘Rooted Neo-Farmers’." The presentation discussed preliminary findings regarding the potential of youth returning to aging rural areas and the dynamics of urban-to-rural migration.
