Applied Social Research Master's Program graduated its first student. Our student Aysima Çalışan successfully defended her thesis titled "Gender, Deskilling & Forced Migration: A Study of the Experiences of Refugee Women in Turkey" on September 30, 2022. We congratulate our student and wish her success in the METU Sociology PhD Program.

Prof. Dr. Şebnem Köşer Akçapar attended online the X. Migration Congress held in Madrid and made a presentation on migration in EU-Turkey relations on September 15, 2022.

Prof. Dr. Şebnem Köşer Akçapar, wrote two chapters titled “Emigration from Afghanistan” and “Social and Demographic Structures of Afghanistan” in the internationally acclaimed book published by TİAV (Turkish Foundation of Administrative Research).
