Abstract / Summary

This seminar will explore how institutions such as welfare states and markets shape family life courses. Using quantitative tools, including sequence analysis and fixed effects models, the discussion will focus on inequality, heterogeneity, and how family inequalities widen over time.


About the Speaker

Dr. Zafer Büyükkeçeci is a research scientist at the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research, working on the BIOSFER project. He holds a PhD in sociology from the Humboldt University of Berlin, specializing in family sociology, social demography, social stratification and inequality, and life-course research.
