Our faculty member Prof. Dr. Sutay Yavuz shared his views in an interview with Anadolu Agency regarding the drop in Türkiye's fertility rate below the European Union average in 2023, and its lag behind the world average. Yavuz emphasized that this situation could lead to serious risks in the future, such as population aging, a decrease in the working-age population, and a direct decline in population. He stressed the importance of implementing various policies to increase fertility rates. He highlighted the need for regulations in the working environment, solutions for housing issues, creating child-friendly areas in cities, and increasing the number of nurseries.
